A truly unique work by Ermanno Nason, this is the only mask of its kind ever made by the Maestro -executed in 1985.
Crafted in transparent glass with dramatic horned extensions, the piece is richly decorated with hand-applied filaments and inclusions in blue, red, and lattimo (milky glass).
The entire surface displays an iridescent finish, giving it a shimmering, spectral quality.
According to Nason himself, he has created only two masks in his entire career, each completely distinct in form and expression.
This example stands apart not only for its rarity but for its expressive character and refined execution. A ring of glass is fused at the top for wall display.
The original preparatory drawing is included with the piece.
